Civil Rights
The Constitution guarantees every U.S. citizen certain civil rights and personal liberties. Such fundamental rights and liberties include, but are not limited to, freedom of speech, not to be falsely arrested or maliciously prosecuted, procedural due process, the right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures, and the right to privacy from unreasonable and unwarranted government intrusion into your home and personal affairs.
However, unfair treatment alone does not necessarily involve a violation of civil rights and/or liberties. It is only the combination of disparate treatment, coupled with discrimination against you, and based on your being part of a protected class under the Constitution such as your race, disability, age, religion, or sex that gives rise to a cause of action based on a civil rights violation.
Most importantly, at MCG Law we believe in reinforcing the mandate that the Constitution requires equal protection of the laws, regardless of your personal attributes and circumstances. If you believe your rights and liberties as an American citizen have been violated, we will strive to seek a remedy garnering the respect and protection you deserve.
